Also, some people just don't want to deal with rescues, most get into parts of our life that are none of their business. It is easier to adopt a child then a dog..and i have done both
So people decide to go through a breeder. If she went to the pet store she could find what she is looking for, so I see no reason not to help her find a good breed who just happens to breed a mix. and lots of hobby breeders breed only one kind of mix.
Stop hating on the mixes. It is going to continue because people want them and I personally see nothing wrong with it (some mixes)..
I also want to add that I personally would never breed a yorkie with anything other than another yorkie just because they are wonderful and perfect as they are |
There are actually a lot of small breeds in shelters as well as rescues. There are a lot of specific "small breed" rescues out there. I got my yorkiepoo from a rescue; he was rescued from a shelter where he was surrendered by his owner. Max is a wonderful dog who had some insecurity issues at first, but with some work and dedication, he has come a long way. He is super smart and it didn't take long for him to adjust to our home. Its almost like he knows that we rescued him. He has truly been a gift to our family; he has brought us so much joy.
No one should ever be discouraged from rescued a dog so long as the dog is good fit for their family. I think the reason that rescues get so in depth during the adoption process, is because they want to make sure the pet would be a good fit so that the dog/cat does not end up back at a shelter again. So many people get pets without thinking it through or don't want to spend the time training and therefore end up with behavioral problems. This is the main reason pets end up abandoned in the first place.
