I went back to look at the rest of the puppies. I am the kind of person who tries to see the best in people and I don't often react this way, but... This pet store makes me want to puke. I am serious, I feel sick and feel a deep sense of sadness.
NONE of those puppies looked happy, they had no life in their eyes. And I don't know if it is just my mood tonight or what but I find myself with tears welling up. that is NOT something I would normally share.
But there are A LOT of puppies of ALL different sizes. Makes me really wonder, where the hell are they keeping all those puppies? They must have one really HUGE store!!!! And what do they do with the ones that don't sell? I always wondered about that about pet stores.
I personally NEVER patron a pet store that sells puppies or kittens..I quit years ago. But I noticed a local pet store i used to buy from and used their grooming services (YEARS ago) sells more puppies and fast! But they only have less than 10, usually not even that matter, they don't have the room. And I see their puppies advertised on kijiji all the time and every single one is a mix, and not just poodle mixes, but some really weird mixes.
Normal prices are 469 to 499..give or take. but I have never seen any over 499.00. That store used to sell only purebreds, occasionally mixed pups from locals who had a litter and couldn't find homes for them and they would sell what they had left to the store for 50 bucks or so each.
Before I knew better I bought an AKC blue and white teeny tiny long haired male chihuahua from them. He ended up being almost 10 pounds, and he fit in the palm of one hand (and I have small hands) when I bought him!!
He also ended up with a large area on his back that never got any hair, except a few wiry ones poking up. It felt weird. And sadly to say, he was not right in the head, it's the nicest way I can think of to put it. Not the brightest crayon in the box..matter of fact I think he was missing from the box..
Ughhh it was so sad and thinking of it makes me feel sad. I have changed SOOOOOO much since then and learned SO much. I do not regret the experience because it taught me so much, but I hope people listen to me and not go the route of learning the hard way.
