How many times a day did they tell you to feed him all that?
He should have stayed with his mom till 12 weeks old, and then they should be on puppy food. At 8 weeks, he needs 3-4 meals per day, and needs to be watched for hypoglycemia. (I would be hyper on 3 tablespoons of pancake syrup! esp 3 times a day!) Have Nutrical on hand for that. I would offer him a moistened puppy kibble till 12 weeks as kibble has more nutrients in it than canned food. Okay to mix some canned in as you switch him over. It may help to offer him a last meal right before bedtime to ward off the hypoglycemia. |
