Another accident story, but not mine:

I am a pilot, and the airport at which I kept my plane had an accident a couple years back. A guy was bringing his 4-seat, very nice plane in to land. On final approach, when he should have been doing his checklists, he was distracted when his dog started jumping around. So... rather than go around and try another landing, he got his dog calmed down, and attempted to land. However, he forgot one critical thing... to put the landing gear down! CRUNCH. Nobody was hurt thankfully, but when questioned by the FAA he cited his dog as the contributing factor to the accident. OOPS! The runway was shut down for hours while they tried to move the plane without damaging it further.

So, it could be worse....
