Archie gets taken out three times a day and I try to do it on a schedule...he knows when he gets to go out. However, like this morning, I woke up late. He was on the bed trying to wake me to tell me he had to go out. So I got up and while getting ready to take him out, he went into the bathroom and went to the bathroom. I still took him out though so that he knows that the rules have not changed. I know when he has to go because he starts sniffing around and acting hyper, and he tries to nudge me with this nose.
When he stands by the door or the window, it doesn't necessarily mean he has to go to the bathroom. To me, it just means he wants to go out and I ignore him sometimes.
As for food and water, I always leave it out for him because I never know when he wants to eat. Usually it's after playing but it doesn't affect him going to the bathroom. He'll pee on his wee wee pad if it's an emergency. |
