Like most of the other posters I would say it has to do with what trainer you get. Several years ago we had a great trainer at Petsmart when I had my sheltie. Then last year we got a TERRIBLE trainer when I enrolled Sasha. To begin with she seemed to have very little experience. On top of that there were at least 3 classes that we showed up for only to find out that she had called in sick but no one bothered to call us to let us know class was cancelled. We also had a bad experience this year with our local kennel club who refused to let you participate unless you were willing to put a choke collar on your dog. So I would say no matter where you decide to go make sure you get a chance to meet the trainer and find out what training methods they use. |
