I looked up the German Standard for Beiwer's. Do not misunderstand me. I think the Beiwer's are beautiful, but they are not a Yorkshire Terrier. AKC set specific standard for Yorkies many years back. They do not fit the Yorkshire Terrier standard and could not compete against the Yorkie. I am sure if AKC accepts them, they will not be competing against the Yorkie (except in Toy Group). They are beautiful and I hope that AKC does accept them for show, but under their own name (Beiwer) and not Yorkshire Terrier. They are a special breed of dog, just as the Yorkshire is. I am probably not making my meaning understood, so I will stop here. Ricki |
