I understand the marking vs peeing thing, but this is what I mean, copied from another thread:

To me this statement means, "yay my doggie squats when peeing and I hope my other doggie never learns to pee standing up either." So it seems to me like people think that male doggies lifting their leg is bad bad bad, and it has nothing to do with marking. That's what I don't understand.
