If you get a boy, my advice is to neuter him young as to help with his feeling the need to mark things. Jacie was neutered at about 1 1/2 years. He feels the need to lift his leg whenever there is another dog here other than Sophie and Taffy, or we are in a strange place. There are belly bands for boys to wear as well to help with it.
