Great Danes are sweet loving dogs but mixing them in to a family with little yorkies scares me. I must share this very sad story with you and I apologize for being gloom and doom. My girl friend has a great dane, lab and a bichon and they all get along wonderful. One day the great dane was reacting to the sound of the door bell- jogging down the hall and the bichon ran in front of him. The little guy suffered a severe back injury and is unable to use his back legs today. It is so sad to see this little sweet guy, he breaks my heart : (
This was a freak accident and I'm sure there are many familys with various size dogs that have a happy tails to tell. As small breed owners we tend to plan ahead and seek to have a safe environment for our littleones so I think it's great you are seeking advice. Good luck making your decision.~wendy |
