Not an expert here by any means however I have read a TON on here LOL. It seems like a lot of BYB or puppy mill people sell pups younger as they seem smaller to the public so they think they will stay that small. As in telling you he is 8 weeks and 1 lb when he may really be 6 weeks and 1 lb. *disclaimer* I do not know how big your dog is btw, just using an example
