It only costs about $10.00 for her to register a dog, so when a breeder says its $200.00 you know that's she's lying. Most dogs are not akc eligible, to be eligible, all their ancestors had to be registered, and be sold with breeding rights. The cost for registering them is very cheap, it's probably isn't eligible. If it's some other registry, it's not even worth it to register them anyway, because they will just take the breeders word. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of American recommends that breeders keep puppies a minimum of 12 weeks, because they need to be taught socialization skills by mama and littermates. Those breeders breeding purely for money will sell them very young, it saves them money on shots, and it saves them time. Have you had a vet check yet? Will it disappoint you if he is not a purebred?
