I too was put off by the recent recall of Nature's Variety. That was the last straw for me after the denaturant issues!

I have switched to Stella and Chewy's for my pre-mades now. They make a frozen as well as a freeze dried/dehydrated food.

EACH batch is independently tested by a lab for e.coli and salmonella and the results are posted on their website. That was enough to make me switch. It could be a super clever marketing scheme? But it does make me feel safer.
