You sound like me, Carol. This is what I would get if I could afford it, but I just spent a bundle on the new camera (Nikon D90) that I've been wanting for the last 6 months. Maybe I should just find a very inexpensive laptop now, and then get a really good one like this with next year's tax refund. Hmmm, now there's an idea....
