Hallie's have been done professionally twice (once when she was 2 when I first got her and then again when she was 6). Simon had his cleaned when he was 5, he had moderate tartar build up.
Now I use the Petzlife gel nightly and use the finger brush and doggy toothpaste on them 3 times a week.
They don't love it but they tolerate it
