Well I just tested 3 popular products on my new very expensive oriental rug that my girls have been secretly tinkeling on. Did I mention it was cream color? Pet Woolite took out the odor but not the stain and left the carpet soft. Natures Miracle worked out 50% of an old stain and did remove the smell after 3 applications. Spot Shot removed the old stains but I'm not crazy about the scent of the product. After cleaning the carpet with spot shot I sprayed it heavily with Lysol disinfectant (the room spray) and my carpet is stink free. If your wondering why I didn't have it professionally cleaned, my cat chewed a very large chunk out of it so I will be replacing it
