Just a thought but since it is a landloard and a neighbor that made these comments, if it possible that she might be barking or crying when you leave for a while? Probably not, but might be a possibility. Either way though, I think you are doing the right thing. I never leave Missy running free when we are not here to watch her. She is only 4 months and small and there is just to much that could happen to her if we weren't here to keep and eye on her. She also sleeps in her pen at night.
