I've changed her diet to lower protein, and she seems to be responding fairly well. She appeared almost normal this morning when I first went in to get them out of their crate. I'm hoping this can be controlled with diet, and if surgery is required, that it be relatively easy.

they are adorable -- the test will be a 12 hr fast then they will pull blood for cbc panel and pre bile acid then you will have to feed asap and 2hrs on the dot they will pull blood for post bile acid to see how liver is functioning with food introduced - if the bats are over 100 most likely a shunt - your vet can do this test or you can go to internal medicine specialist - if over 100 go straight to scintigraphy as most accurate more so than ultrasound and protein c if you want to save on cost - and the best place to have surgery is dr tobias at university of tennessee
