No, it isn't Nancy. But, you do have to take the necessary precautions. Even before they're born, mother's aren't comprimised by setting their feet on dirt, they have a confined play area outside, where they potty. My pups don't come out of my bedroom until 8 1/2 weeks of age....when they've had their first vaccination, then they go into the kitchen and that floor is cleaned 3 times a day. They don't set foot outside until their 3rd shot at 16 weeks of age.
As a matter of fact I know of two other people that vaccinated their pups at 6 weeks and lost a whole litter because they contracted Parvo from the vaccination........
