What a nightmare to live through! It sounds to me that your vet really thought he was following the right procedures and would go out of his way for you. That being said I think only another vet could give you the answers you need. It would haunt me too, but we put our trust into a vet to give the best possible treatment for our yorkies and when something like this occurs you might wonder...what if... but cannot blame yourself.
