Thumbs up

Ditto what Luvmypupster has said. It is excellent advice. I thought my 8 year old Schnauzer would never care to have anything to do with Bo. He did nothing but snap and avoid at first, even though Bo was exhibiting all the submissive postures. We had also gotten Bo as a diversion for Woody who has suffered from severe allergies and anxiety as a result, all of his life. But, ever so slowly Woody has decided that Bo has a little redeeming value in a playmate. I was so pleased the first time they really played and Woody enjoyed it. Woody will always tire first and when I see he's tiring, I separate them and give Woody and safe haven to escape (usually let him sit on the couch on a towel, a treat for him since he's never been allowed before). Be patient and respect your olders one's conflicting emotions. His love for you will never change but he can get his feelings hurt. Good luck!
