Daisy will run away, too, even if is something she wants. She will bark to go outside potty. I get her leash, and she runs and hides. I have to open the door a crack to get her to come out.
I did find something out by accident, tho. When she starts to run behind something I call out "STOP" and she stops dead in her tracks! Then I can go pick her up. It is very funny. One day I just said the word "stop" in a regular voice and she just stood there frozen until I picked her up. I wonder if they get too excited and don't know what to do, so they run.
