Please accept my condolences. I know what you are going through as I lost my little baby Chi in October. I collapsed, ending up hospitalized overnight. I have no memory of getting to the hospital, even when my family tells me of the event.
I had my dog cremated (I've never done that before) and her ashes are in a nice little box that is now in her toy box. People sent me a poem entitled Rainbow Bridge.
