Oh yes, very normal
I always recommend the hide a squirrel and egg babies toys for dogs that like to destroy their toys. They are meant to be "ripped" apart and dogs get the statisfaction of destroying their toy without actually ruining it.
But then again, some dogs just don't care and will tear the toy apart anyways.
My dog's hide a squirrel is a weird looking family- one has no tail, one has no stuffing, and one is in perfect shape. But he plays with all three of them still
