You guys have no idea how much I want to just get up and leave, today, everyday.
I don't HATE my job... I just work for Cybil and a guy I work with I CANNOT stand. I'm BORED all time, and any new 'duty' I get is just that a 'duty'. I was hired to be an application developer, now I do the crappiest, monotonous most boring jobs.
I hate to sound snooty, but I am VERY ambitious and spent too much money on my education to be doing this crap work. I applied to 3 jobs today. Please WISH me luck. Almost anything has to be better than this.
With the economy things are tough and tight right? Well... I am OK with all the things they took away from us benefits-wise and all the pay cuts.. what I'm not ok with is the digression of my work. From developer to answering the phones, although I did not get a paycut for that I'm now overpaid for the work I've been doing. (I am taking a paycut for unpaid time off along with the rest of the company.) Its soooo aggravating! |
I know you dislike your job and you want another. I am glad that you have other places to put your application in. ... in saying that, at least you HAVE a job. I have masters and I can't get a job. Either I am too qualified or not qualified... and there have been a TREMENDOUS amount of teacher cuts in the past year or so. So I have been substituting, getting about a 1/3 of what I would as a teacher and its not everyday. I know I am just substituting but I feel as though I am underemployeed and underpaid as well. So I know the feeling. Right now there are LOTS in the same boat. My sister in law has a masters as well and she is working at a market stand in Philly. I have other friends with masters who are waitressing. Pretty sad and its not where we saw ourselves but hopefully things will work out for the best.
Chin up girlfriend. Hopefully something better will come along soon.
