Very good points, Debbie, and I'm sure you saw so many tragedies firsthand.
Although I do think there are success stories of big dogs w/ little doggies...gosh, I just couldn't do it, myself.
As many of you know, I just went through rescuing the *most* gentle Pitbull on the planet, Ambrey (okay, I'm biased

) - she thought she was a lap dog! Seriously, a total love bug, and that's all she was capable of, really. However, we kept the boys separate from her the *entire* time we fostered her...only bc all she would have to do while playing, is bring down a friendly, playful paw and *boom*, Marcel's neck could be broken in a 1/2 second. That would not have been Ambrey's fault...rather, just a size/power difference.
Something to consider....
