It is possible that it could have been an allergic reaction, but I see that happening on people with very sensitive skin. Thin skin can rip of with the adhesive and trust me a yorkies belly looks very sensitive to me. They might just be used to bigger dogs that don't have that problem. If there are any types of blisters then I would go with the allergy part but that looked like rip skin to me.
I think the sensible thing to use as a dressing would be dermabond, if not reg 4+4's with paper tape or any other bandage for sensible skin will have done it.
