I would have been livid. Nobody and I mean "NOBODY" hurts my dog. That is completely uncalled for and I would find another vet immediately. Even if they apply that kind of tape (which they should not have done), they should be able to get it off without hurting the animal. There are safe solvents that will remove the glue and release the hair.
