There is a solution you can get from the vet. Maybe you can buy it at the pet store. You can soak a cottonball with it and use your fingers. I would be a little nervous using a Q-tip (might stick it in to far). My dog actually enjoys getting his ears cleaned, it must feel refreshing for him or something .
