Default I had a yortese/morkie once...

[COLOR=Red]For 9 days. And I had to have her put down because I got her from a shady breeder (which I didn't know at the time...first puppy and all)---This is what I have up on Dogster for her...:[COLOR]

I was looking in the paper, looking online...I wanted a Morkie. I researched and shopped around, and lo and behold one day, I found my Baby...She was from a breeder in SE Iowa...I met them in Iowa City, and was delivered a 1 lb. ball of love and joy...she was so mellow, rode in the car wonderfully...we got her settled in at home, and played with her, let her sleep...but she wouldn't eat. We had the vet appointment two days after we got her, and took her in...found out she was essentially on the brink of death.

She was not 8 weeks old (which at the time I thought was old enough for her type, but have since learned different) like they said...she was more like, 4 to 6...she only had 4 baby teeth, and couldn't eat hard food yet like the breeder had said...and had NO registerable blood sugar. AT all.

So we began syringe feeding her every couple hours...visited the vet every day practically...moved her feedings up to every hour, with the formula and honey...what a sticky mess she was!!

She started to make improvements for a couple days, then Friday night, 6 days after I got her, she started seizing. She had one seizure Friday, 2 Saturday (we had a vet appointment this day, and told them...but they said it was probably just because she was so hypoglycemic...then Sunday she had 4! It is the most horrible thing in the world to watch, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone...she slept allllll day in between, except when we fed her...then Monday, I had to work, so I took her to my dad to take care of her till I could get off of work. I cancelled my vacation I had planned for a year that morning when I got in, so I could just stay home with her instead to help her get better. We had a vet appointment that afternoon to decide if we should start her on an IV or continue as is...

Then, that afternoon, my dad called: "You need to come get her now and take her to the vet...I don't think she can wait." So I left work, rushed to my car, and picked her up. She was jelly...wouldn't hold her head up, wouldn't open her eyes...all she could do was wag her tail and whine very softly.

I took her in, and that was pretty much all...they said she again had no blood sugar, and was more or less brain dead...that she would never be the same, and the humane thing to do would be to put her to sleep...and send her over the Bridge.

That was and will be the hardest thing I think I'll ever have to do in my entire life. I've never been so devastated. I had no idea I could be so attached to something/someone so quickly, and to lose them because of someone else's idiocy and endangerment kills me.

So she has left this earth...and crossed the bridge. I know we will meet again. She gave me unconditional love in her kisses and cuddles, and filled my heart in a way I never knew before...and I will never forget that.

So essentially, what I'm saying: be careful. Most reputable breeders, at least from what I've seen, will stay away from the mixes, and do their best to better the breed they care about. I thank God everyday for the lady I got Cooper from. She was a blessing, and so is he.
