We had our 11 week old puppy for 3 weeks. I took her for her first puppy visit and she received the boardatello and the DA2LPP/Corona First Vaccine. She was perfectly healthy before that. That was on Wednesday. On Wed night she began to drool quite profusely. I called the vet on Thur a.m. and they said it was probably a reation to the toothpaste they had given me. As Thur and Fri progressed she got increasingly whinier. Saturday morning about 4:45 she had a seizure and another at 6:45. We took her to the vet at 8 and they kept her saying it might be a shunt. By Saturday at 11 p.m. they called to see if we wanted her revived if she quit breathing. Sunday morning at 9:30 we made the horrible decision to euthanize. She was having continuous seizures even under maxium doses of Valium and phenobarbitol. We are completely grief stricken. The vet firmly declared that the vaccine had nothing to do with this, but I just can't believe it. Our breeder is devestated as well and has made the very kind offer to give us another puppy from the litter. If we accept this offer I am so confused about vet care and vaccines. My heart is broken. I feel like I blindly handed her over to be killed. She was a Christmas gift that my husband saved and saved for. Any advice about what do to.
