Mine climbed over a gate, too. It was the type that had horizontal and vertical webbing, so it gave her "toe holds" to climb up and over. It scared the crap out of me -- what if she fell while climbing, and one of her feet got caught. Potentially, she could be dangling upside down for hours, damaging a limb or dying.

So I bought another gate, one with only vertical slats, so there was no way for her to climb up. That gate, though, when it was adjusted to fit the doorway, had gaps on the edges that were a little too big, so she was able to squeeze out through the edges. I finally had to use both gates together, with the gridded one on the outside about 2 inches away so that she couldn't use it to climb, but it blocked the edges on the vertically slatted one.

I think she is large enough now that I probably only have to use the vertically slatted gate.
