Yes, the do climb....I have one that is prone to climbing and so are his offspring. One word of warning.....As a puppy I kept him in an x-pen when I couldn't monitor his every move......his climbing out, let to his dislocating his hip, which resulted in surgery. Big lesson, I added tops to all my x-pens......
