If you choose to go with something like that be sure to read the package very carefully. Many of them say they should never be used on a dog under 10 lbs. (may even be more than that).
Also, for anyone who may have something like this outdoors...I have a friend that has the electric fence around their parameter (country home). They of course, have a big BIG dog, and it works well. It keeps thier dog from going past the parameter of their property BUT it does not keep others from coming in. So, you would have to be very careful of predators still for your smaller dogs if you use anything like this outdoors. Just FYI.
