When we leave the house, we let our 3 1/2 month old yorkie, Rucker, run around in our big kitchen (it's puppy-proofed!). We have a baby gate up so that he can't get out and run around the house. We do this for his safety and also so that he won't mess up the rest of the house. I came home twice yesterday after being gone, and found him out of the kitchen. I put him back in the second time and watched him, and was amazed to see him climb the gate and jump over! This isn't a little gate by any means. It's tall for him. I was amazed.
