I don't think that is necessarily true sweetie. My Precious had her 1st litter of 5, her 2nd she had 4, her 3rd there was only 1, her 4th she had 3 and her last litter another 4. With the exception of one female weighing only 3 ozs, all the others ranged between 4 & 6 ozs at birth. Precious always weighed between 6 and 8 lbs before and after each whelping. Now that she is spayed, she stays steady at 9 lbs
