I understand being worried. My vet's office crowned me "most emotional doggy momma" when I had Maximo neutered. I completely humiliated myself when I dropped him off and when I picked him up. They wanted to sedate me.
When I called and asked the Vet about walking, they told me I could walk him for a short walk. When he was trying to run on me or go in his direction and not mine. I would pick him up and carry him into mine a few feet. Then after a few times of that he settled down and walked my way.
