Hello my name is Carmen and I breed silky terriers, she is young and inexperience, so yes is very normal she is protecting herself. and yes attitute varies a bit while they are in heat, I keep disposable diapers on my girls when in heat, they sell them cheap at walmart. Heat cycle last 21 days minimum, keep her away from any unaltered males for at least 25 days. Let me know if you have any other questions i will be glad to help.
