I have only flown coach and I have always found the airline staff to be kind and helpful. When a traveled with both girls in separate carriers they helpful finding space for them. As for our longer flights I would place a pad down in the airport terminal away from the crowd and let them have a pee break. They would be leashed and harnessed of course. never had a problem. Just make sure you plan accordingly for a delay.
