Animal Smiley 036 Bragging about my little Edith

I hear so many stories about the trials of housetraining, and believe me, Edie was no different. It is a tough struggle with small dogs. Edie is 5 now, and I need to brag about something that happened this summer.

We have a doggie door that goes out to our backyard. Edie got up out of our bed in the middle of the night, (about 3 a.m.) went down her ramp (yes, our bed is high, so she has a carpeted ramp to get up and down), down the stairs, through the kitchen, and out to the backyard. She went pee pee (I was spying from upstairs by this time), came back inside, up the stairs, up her ramp, and into bed. All without making a sound.

Well, I was just so proud that I called a dozen people the next day to brag.

To those of you having trouble with housetraining, I can tell you that the single thing that solved all our problems was the doggie door. Edie KNEW what she had to do, but she was unable to get outside in time!!.

I highly recommend doggie doors. We have one with a magnetic lock. Only an animal wearing a magnetic "key" can get in, so no troubles with squirrels, etc.

Alison, the proud mother.
