As far as it being tearless, I don't know what it takes to be able to advertise a product as "tearless", but I have used it on Yorkies as young as 6 weeks and even on my kids and myself. I have had many Yorkies get bubbles in their eyes with no problems or even a reaction like it was stinging or anything. I use it to scrub faces - I don't use a seperate product for the face or for tear stains.
So, if nothing else, I can say that it is gentle.
