My Max (9 months) was diagnosed with legg perthes in his left hip this week. The options are to keep him on pain killers or have surgery. Of course, I will have surgery if the specialist recommends it ($1600-$2500). He does not appear to be in pain, but I will not allow him to suffer. If anyone has dealt with legg perthes, please share your story with me. I will be taking him to LSU Vetinarian School in Baton Rouge, LA. If anyone happens to deal with them, please let me know how good or not so good they are!
