hi there !! It's not stupid -
most all avatars are small photos cropped - but seeing an avatar picture doesn't mean the photo is online
You can see peoples real photos in their albums if you click on their user name and look to the right for their albums.
Another way to see pictures is to go to the very top of the site in the
photo gallery - that's where I had all my photos till they made the 'homepages' on this site...
