That is correct, I know alot of places are upgrading their scanners but there are also those that cannot or don't wan't to put in more money on betters scanners. Microchip is just like any industry and are coming with better ones. I would hope by know they will all be universal (scanners & micro's).
Alway's ask what brand and read/compare.
