The ear canal is shaped like an L......I put the nozzle right into the opening of the canal and squeeze. Hold the solution and rub at the same time. The dog will shake their head, getting rid of the excess solution. You can then take a q-tip and gently swab out the wax (taking care not to go in). I use a Q-tip to dry out the ear leather....easy way to make sure the entire ear is clean.
