If it was true, we would all have fat females, as most of ours are spayed... not true. Even if there was a possibility of obesity, that is easier to treat than mammary cancer, which is the greater risk of not spaying.
Weight is determined by genetics, diet and exercise. Even an unspayed female can become obese.
