Snickers used to lick and bite his hind feet all the time when I had him on Nutro (GROSS!) when we 1st got him and still did it when we transitioned to Merrick's Puppy Plate. Finally, after he was about 6 months old, we went to a grainfree food (Evo) and he stopped. He will still do it from time to time when we give him Cheerios for potty treats over a week...it's crazy how he reacts to grains.
Each dog is different so it could be a food allergy for your pup, a medical reason, or it maybe comforting to your pup to lick. I am also curious as to what your dog's diet is.
