Sophie would grab a small rock out of the garden in the yard and smuggle it into the house when she was about 4 or 5 months old. I was afraid of tooth damage too. Thank goodness they were baby teeth. She liked them because they were small enough and light enough to throw into the air, like playing catch with herself. I substituted a small lightweight lufa toy for cats and it worked. She is so funny when she throws that little pink lufa toy dog across the room or in the air and chases it
