Sounds like he is trying to get the cats to go out to do their job. LOL We have a cat with litter box also. Our ACD started "eating" out of it and my yorkie seen this, I caught her with her nose in it, so we bought a $11 childs gate to keep the dogs away from it. That cat now is getting his plyometrics in a few times a day which he needs.
