JMO - Yes, most pet buyers do not look at the standard nor know the difference of yorkie puppies, but the breeder should know better. Many pet breeders do not know and breed thinking that their own pet is so cute, so lets breed her/him. When they should be learning quality and know the difference. It is a learning curve that they (both breeders and buyers) need to go through. I agree all pets deserve a great home, but buyers should not have to pay as much if the pup is not as nice. I too had to learned when I got my first yorkie - many moons ago, 1970s. I then learned about the standard and the breed and all aspects of yorkshire terriers due to my interest in the breed.
The OP question was how much to charge - I think/hope she is researching and learning to make sure she sets her price at what the best price should be for her pups based on what quality they are. She is hopefully trying to be fair to the consumer - pet buyer and also fair to her.
I also have to add - don't yorkie pups look just like Rottie pups when born just that yorkies are smaller! When you - (Pat) mention Rotties, this is what it made me think of.
